Victory Circle students have gone on to a range of exciting internships and careers in STEM. Many of them, including Nathan Sam who was a Base 11 Summer Fellow at Caltech, credit Base 11’s hands-on learning experiences with equipping them with the skills, connections, and confidence to leap to the next level in their educational and career pathway.
As a mechanical engineering student at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, Nathan continued his journey at the NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center, where he worked as an intern on an aircraft prototype that could one day fly on Mars.
Experiential learning opportunities like NASA’s and Base 11’s equip students like Nathan with the tools they need to be competitive in the STEM workforce straight out of college.
“I am excited to continue to have first-hand experience, getting back to flight testing the Mars airplane and building skills that will give me a boost in seeking the kind of work I want to do after college,” Sam said.
