At Base 11, we’re passionate about connecting students with industry leaders and helping them develop skills and networks to advance their careers. Our Parity Project Innovation Challenge (PPIC) winners recently had several opportunities to do both during the Base 11 Grand Prize Showcase at JPMorgan Chase in New York City and The Executive Leadership Council Honors Symposium in Washington D.C.

Presenting at JPMorgan Chase

Our PPIC winners kicked off their transformative week in New York City, where they had the unique opportunity to present their projects to top executives at JPMorgan Chase. Among those present were Frederick Royal III, Managing Director, Kanayo Oweazim, DEI Lead for Business Growth and Entrepreneurship, and Victoria Davenport, Vice President of Innovation Economy, Technology, and Commercial Banking . Engaging with visionary leaders like Frederick, Kanayo, and Victoria gave our winners a chance to not only showcase their innovative work but also receive valuable feedback and mentorship.

Networking at The Executive Leadership Council Honors Symposium

After New York, our winners headed to Washington D.C. for The Executive Leadership Council (ELC) Honors Symposium, a prestigious event dedicated to increasing the pipeline of Black executives from the classroom to the boardroom. Throughout the week, our students attended engaging sessions, workshops, and a career fair where they connected with top industry leaders. They showcased their talents, built new relationships, and learned directly from executives at the highest levels of corporate America.

Celebrating Black Excellence at the Recognition Gala

Capping off this unforgettable week, our PPIC winners attended the ELC Honors Symposium Recognition Gala. The fundraiser celebrated Black excellence in corporate leadership, honoring the accomplishments of Black executives and leaders who are making a significant impact across their industries.

Our winners were thrilled to be part of this inspiring event, where they connected with trailblazers, learned from accomplished leaders, and jammed out to a great performance by Bell Biv DeVoe!

Looking Ahead

As we reflect on this year’s Base 11 Grand Prize Showcase, we are immensely proud of our PPIC winners. From presenting their projects at JPMorgan Chase to networking at The Executive Leadership Council Honors Symposium and celebrating Black excellence at the Recognition Gala, these experiences have set the stage for their continued success.
