“It really doesn’t matter how long we take to graduate; what matters is, what we learn along the way and how we continue to push ourselves to grow, mentally and/or emotionally.”

Alina Rai was a Skyline College student who completed the Base 11 Summer Fellowship at Caltech. She now studies mechanical engineering at UC Berkeley.

“Labs for classes are meant to be hands-on, but it’s a whole different thing when you can watch a YouTube video, go to the lab, and figure it out for yourself.”

Skyline College student Daniel Messier uses the campus’s Base 11 Innovation Center to design, build, and compete in a solar regatta competition.

“I love engineering because it’s the only hands-on class we actually get to do in school. And we actually get to put our brains together.”

Cristo Rey Philadelphia senior Daymer Batties designed, built and flew a drone through Base 11’s Autonomous Systems Engineering Academy.
