Next Frontier industries include commercial aerospace — projected to be a $2.7 trillion market within the next 30 years — as well as autonomous systems and artificial intelligence. Yet according to the National Science Foundation, the current science and engineering workforce is made up of just 6% African-Americans and 7% Hispanics. Women hold only 29% of the S&E job market. We cannot allow women and underrepresented groups to be left behind in the Next Frontier economy.
