Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Government Affairs, Seattle Seahawks

Ed Goines enters his seventh season with the Seahawks in 2020 after adding the title of Senior Vice President in 2018.  As SVP, General Counsel and Government Affairs, Goines administers the corporate legal affairs for the Seahawks and First & Goal Inc./CenturyLink Field and is responsible for managing the organization’s government relations strategy and policies. Goines works closely with the organization’s business partners and was instrumental in securing an extension of a 15-year stadium naming rights agreement with CenturyLink. Prior to the Seahawks, Goines was Assistant Chief Counsel for The Walt Disney Company.  Before Disney, he served as General Counsel and Vice President of Business Affairs for the San Francisco 49ers.  His work in the entertainment and sports fields also includes serving as in-house legal counsel for Major League Soccer, Ticketmaster, and Mattel. Goines began his law career as an associate in the Los Angeles office of Baker & Hostetler. A graduate of University of California, Berkeley, School of Law in 1992, he obtained a bachelor’s degree from Stanford University in 1988. Goines was born and raised in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
