Fred Lowery is Senior Vice President of Thermo Fisher, President Life Sciences and Laboratory Products Groups. Thermo Fisher Scientific is the world leader in serving science, helping its customers make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. Thermo Fisher Scientific is a $25 Billion company with 70,000 employees globally. As a company officer, Mr. Lowery leads the Life Science and Laboratory Products businesses. These businesses provide an extensive portfolio of reagents, instruments,
equipment, consumables and chemicals used in biological and medical research, discovery and production of new drugs and vaccines as well as diagnosis of disease. These products and services are used by customers in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, agricultural, clinical, academic, and government markets.
Mr. Lowery is an accomplished and dynamic corporate leader with a proven track record leading teams to drive profitable growth. He has developed operating teams, launched innovative new products, acquired and integrated businesses and successfully led businesses for over 20 years, while working for several Fortune 500 companies. Mr. Lowery joined Fisher Scientific International in 2005, prior to its merger with Thermo Electron Corporation one year later creating Thermo Fisher Scientific. At Fisher Scientific Mr. Lowery led the Operations at the Molecular BioProducts business and the transformation of the Fisher Scientific Products New Product Development process. After the merger he led the Chromatography Consumables business and the Life Science Research business as the VP/GM. He was promoted to President of Laboratory Consumables in 2011 and Senior Vice President and President of Laboratory Products in 2014.
Prior to joining Fisher Scientific in 2005, Mr. Lowery held various roles at Maytag Corporation in marketing, business development and global procurement. Prior to joining Maytag, Mr. Lowery held various positions in product engineering and operations at General Motors and Delphi Automotive Systems. Mr. Lowery is a father of four and a native of Knoxville, TN. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University He also holds a Master of Science degree in Manufacturing Management from Kettering University (formerly General Motors Institute of Engineering and Management).
Mr. Lowery currently serves on the Board of Directors at DuPont, the Boston Renaissance Charter Public School Board of Trustees, and is a member of the Tennessee Tech University Board of Trustees.
